I am now a Wyze fan after owning various brands of Security camera systemsSome good points:1. Low cost $30 for camera + SD card2. Low cost companion add on like motion detector & door sensors3. Reliable operation: most important aspect of security camera4. Continuous free feature update/bug fix. This is a rare features on most low cost electronic products. There is quite a bit of useful supporting information at the company web site 5. Ease of set up (5 min top) and App use6. Two week Cloud storageSome negative points;1. Short video clips (12 second) for Cloud storage2. Audio quality is below average3. Gaps in video recording clips (common on low cost IP cameras)But overall, for the value, reliability and ease of use, I think the Wyze eco system is great and I am one of their fans and would not hesitate to try their new products
Wyze Cam I just recommend for everyone. I’ve had their cameras since v1 of their indoor camera.I started in a smaller 2bdrm apartment and just needed one to watch my front door and patio doors just for added security. I’m now in a 2k plus sqft house thus the recent purchase of a couple more.Pros- Cheap- Night vision w/ microphone and speaker- East to set up and manage, + App is super easy to navigate and use- Even though they only recommend up to 32g micro sd I have a 128g with zero issues and records for almost a month of full 1080p.- Free cloud storage of notifications of 14days- Lots of accessories on for indoor decorating & some outdoor as wellCons- Video is 1080p but unless perfectly mounted to catch someone’s may not have much of a face identification. Distance is not it’s friend in video quality.- If in direct sunlight, I noticed the heat can affect the camera and would mess it up so it would need to be unplugged/plugged back in againOverall I can’t really think of too much negative to say. I’ve recommended them to all my friends and even strangers at Costco/Sams Club looking at spending $$$ on cameras. All my friends and family all have at least one now watching their homes and love them. Several had returned Nest and Ring camera systems and replaced with these.
So, these little cameras were a great fit for me because of the size and simplicity. At a little north of $20 per camera, they are serving their purpose well. They were packaged well upon arrival. The cameras are compact and have a little retractable stand attached to the bottom. Unlike other cameras I've owned, these Wyze cams were very straightforward when it came to pairing. I'd suggest plugging them in near your router at first while pairing, to avoid any delay in linking. Once paired, you can place them wherever you have decent wifi. There are three camera resolutions you can toggle while viewing the feed; SD, HD, and 360P. Mine happen to come in much clearer on 360P. They offer some free local storage but you can also add a mini SD for additional storage. Overall, we are very pleased with these little Wyze Indoor Cams and plan on buying more in the future.Pros: Small, sleek, easy setup, cheap, free storage.Cons: Wired, almost too many notification options,
If you're looking for an inexpensive camera to cover basic home security in a number of locations around your home, this is the right camera.Wyzecams connect via wifi to your home internet and have a phone application that will allow you to access your cameras live feed from anywhere (on or off your wifi network)The night vision picks up very well on these cameras. The daytime shot is ok, I wasn't expecting anything amazing because of cost of camera. If I needed to identify someone I could probably do so.The best thing about this camera is it has no monthly subscription fees if you use the basic version of the app. There are some optional add-on features but otherwise Wyze will give you 14day storage of events for free. Store 12 sec clips for motion.I did purchase some 16' extension cables for these cameras as the included power cables were not long enough to reach power outlets at the locations I wanted to install them.I have 2 of these cameras installed in my home, and I love them. It saves me a lot of money over going through some of the more well known security camera companies. Its a one time payment to buy the cameras and that's it.
I already had a Ring doorbell and security system and when looking to further tighten up the security I came across this camera. It is cheap and easy to set up. It will take 1080p quality videos. Clips are of and 12 second in length and save them on cloud. You can also insert micro SD card to store the videos locally.I also have an echo show 8 and integrated these cameras within Alexa. When I say "Alexa show wyze living room camera" it will pull up the live video in few seconds. From Alexa app I configured to turn on the camera and motion sensor only when I arm the Ring security system. That way camera and motion won't be triggered when we are at home. You can also integrate with IFTTT to run more automation tasks.Overall this camera gave me extra level of comfort in securing my home. I highly recommend it.
