BOUGHT THIS FOR MY WIFE FOR SLEEPING AND FOUND I LOVE IT JUST AS MUCH, DON'T WANT TO GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT IT NOW. I WIH IT HAD MORE SOUNDS BUT DOES SOUND GOOD FOR WHAT IT DOES HAVE, MAY WANT TO CONSIDER ONE WITH MORE CHOICES.
During the summer our air conditioning in the bedroom was on all the time and I got used to the sound of it. So when we turned it off this fall, I heard every little noise, the road traffic, creaks, etc. With this machine, I put it on one of the fan settings and it sounds like the air conditioning unit. The machine is small so travel with it would be easy. The volume control has a wide range and the controls are easy to use. I read the instruction manual first so I would advise anyone to read it.
Purchased this as I went from window units in bedroom for cooling to central ac/heat so needed the noise. This didn't disappoint. The little "nightlight" is an added bonus! This noise maker hits on every thing needed for sleepers.
My only criticism is that the on/off button doesn’t have a raised nub of some kind to distinguish it from the other buttons. When laying down and reaching to turn it off I often tap the wrong button .
All in all a good sound machine! I’m a light sleeper in a noisy apartment building, so white noise is a must. I had another a sound machine that I loved, but it recently died. So I replaced it with this one. So far, I’m satisfied. I’m still getting used to the sensor buttons (I had real buttons on my last one) which are harder to turn off when you’re half asleep. And this one can’t work on batteries so it’s a little less travel friendly. But the sound quality is good and there are a lot of white noise and fan options to get the right tone! Volume is loud enough too, which is important for me.
